The best-known of all the Wedgwood bas-reliefs is the "Dancing Hours". The design is attributed to John Flaxman Jnr. (1755 to 1826). During the 18th and 19th century John Flaxman Jnr was renowned throughout Europe as a sculptor illustrator and designer. The 'Dancing Hours" depicts the classical "Horae" personification of the hours of the day.
